Trance, trance and some more trance

Aight, so I think it’s about time to get over Bal en Blanc, no matter how amazing it was. Even more so if you stayed until the end and got to see Ben Gold who delivered a ridiculously good set. Well anyways, on with the music.

So I guess my title is a bit deceiving, it’s my first song and it’s not trance but it’s one of my favourites of the past few weeks, heard it first on TGP and it just keeps growing on me. Just gotta love what Arno Cost is doing.

Arias & Arno Cost – Days to Come (feat. Michael Feiner)

Next track is a sick collaboration from Markus Schulz and Jochen Miller (who’s at Circus in August!!!!). I feel it kind of sounds like a morph between Gareth and Ummet Ozcan’s sound. If you get lucky, like Justin you get to hear it at a club and text me at 2am telling me the Dj is playing it…

Markus Schulz & Jochen Miller – Rotunda

Well, I guess I would feel pretty bad if I didn’t post some Stoneface and Terminal since they’re here on Sunday, at least their latest release is absolutely killing it for me, oh wait they all do… (did i ever mention that they have the best name also?)

Stoneface & Terminal – Time to Wait

2:08 of the video, super awesome…

Before I go on with the next song, I just want to recommend that you guys check out Tiësto’s new compilation Club Life, Vol. 1 Las Vegas. Got to hand it to him, he morphed his style and I really did not think I’d appreciate it but this CD is really fucking awesome and his recent productions under the alias Allure are decent as well. Unfortunately, there’s just too much music for me to put everything I like up but if you are like me and you’ve got the time, you should really check it out.

Oh well I guess one last video before I get to the awesome upcoming weekend. Here’s a beautiful song for you guys, vocal trance how it should be.

Max Graham – So Caught Up (feat. Neev Kennedy)

So, as I usually end my posts, here are some upcoming events.

Chris Lake, Funkagenda, Dirty South – May  20th @ La Folie               M.I.K.E & Mr. Pit - May 20th @ Circus Afterhours

ARMIN VAN BUUREN – May 22nd @ Beach Club                                  Laidback Luke – May 22nd @ SAT

Ben Gold – May 22nd @ Red-Lite                                               Stoneface and Terminal & Wezz Devall – May 22nd @ Circus Afterhours

So…yeah, holy shit the 22nd is a crazy ass day, depending on the set times, it would be possible to see maybe 3 out of the 4 (conflict between Ben Gold & Stoneface but i haven’t seen S&T yet).  A bit of lameness though, Andy Moor was originally scheduled to play at Circus but got dropped for some reason, which sucks cause he’s been on fire lately.

Andy Moor & M.I.K.E – Spirit’s Pulse

Vangelis – Rachel’s Song (Andy Moor Remix)

Fuck Treble

Aight so last Saturday my buddy convinced me to go to see Mt. Eden with him at Theatre Telus and its a good thing I didn’t refuse. First off, opening was sick with Elo!i & Heights followed by Vilify (who’s pretty much at every big dubstep event in Montreal). Mt. Eden turned out to be completely different than I expected, from what I knew of them, they played cool-relaxed dubstep, but they were pumping some sick Chase and Status and some Bare Noize all night, it was crazy. Some good moshing every now in then is good for your system. One thing though is that one of Mt Eden’s members was obsessed with giving the crowd the finger and putting his Jagermeister in the air…

Mt. Eden – Sierra Leone

Chase and Status – Blind Faith (feat. Liam Bailey)                                They played a sick remix I couldn’t find but I still love the original

Miss Jane – It’s a Fine Day (Levitating Elephants Dubstep Remix)             The trance version is sick but when I heard this mix I dropped dead.

Also a lot of tracks I couldn’t find such as a sick remix of Bowie’s “Space Oddity”, a new Starry Eyed Remix (yeah another one) and a remix of Basement Jaxx’s “Where’s Your Head At” that I’ll try and find in a near future.

Aight, now on to some more tunes I’ve been blasting recently (however my beloved earphones broke so I’m currently eBaying the shit out of a few pairs, to no avail so far).

Chase and Status- Fool Yourself (feat. Plan B & Rage)

Muse – Resistance (Spor Remix)

Now for a bit of trance, heard the Stoneface track on TATW I think and the 4 Strings remix has just been played non-stop by pretty much everyone.

Stoneface & Terminal – Here to Stay

Slusnik Luna – Sun (4 Strings Remix)  (Link Removed)

Aight so closing note, Avicii is bringing his badass self to Bal en Blanc and it seems pretty much all set now, unless they got one more surprise for us.

I Need More Painkillers!

What’s up ladies and gents? We haven’t posted anything for a while so here’s a little music to brighten your week. And, especially for Will, there’s gonna be a bit of everything, not just trance.

image Before we get to the music though, I think this picture on the right is pretty self explanatory. Steve Angello is coming Friday at the Telus Theatre. Tickets are 30 bucks and totally worth it in my opinion. Also, according to Justin, there should be a guest appearance by Axwell which would be insane. But you didn’t really think that the night would end there I hope? The same night (or morning, whatever you fancy really), Sean Tyas is playing at Circus Afterhours and its only a few blocks away and 15$ entry. So basically, you get to see two of the worlds top 50 Djs in one night, you’d have to be crazy or Wei to miss it.

So this first track is a new release and I just can’t stop listening to it. I think it might have something to do with the fact that I like almost everything that Mysto & Pizzi do. If you haven’t heard of them yet, go check’em out on Youtube, they’re hilarious.

Malo (Mysto & Pizzi Remix) – Avicii

Let’s face it, it just wouldn’t be one of my posts if I didn’t have any trance in it.

Painkillers (Stoneface & Terminal Remix) – Kyau & Albert

Good Dreams (Barnes & Heatcliff Remix) – tyDi

Hands to Hold Me (feat. Cristina Soto) – Tritonal

By the way, Armin is having a vote on his website for the song of the year. If you’re like me and you look for any reason not to study, there’s  a huge list of great tracks you can check out. Oh and if Stoneface isn’t the best Dj name I just don’t know what is.

This next track I did not like at first, I found it kinda boring but I just could not get it out of my head.

I Can’t Stop – Flux Pavilion

And finally, this final track is getting kind of mixed reviews. It’s a weird mix between trance and d&b. Mostly, if you liked the original trance version you might not like it but I still find it sick. There cannot be enough mixes of this song.

On a Good Day (Metropolis) (J Majik & Wickaman Remix) – OceanLab vs. Gareth Emery

Let the Countdown Begin

Hey guys. School just started, so might as well post while I have the free time. Lots of stuff happening in the music world right now: the DJMag.com top 100 DJs voting continues and if you haven't submitted your choices yet, we strongly suggest you do so immediately by clicking below.
Armin's new album Mirage is set for release on September 10th and previews for the 16 tracks are now available on iTunes. I'm not his biggest fan, but the music can't be that bad when you collaborate with Ferry Corsten and own the title of best DJ in the world. Click here to preview Mirage.

Gareth Emery's new album Northern Lights is also set for release in September. It comes out on the 23rd and it features loads of guest starring vocalists, something that is very uncharacteristic of his music. Among those contributing are Lucy Saunders and Roxanne Emery (hot), the latter being Gareth's sister. His tracks are also available for preview and you can access them by clicking here.

The album's first single, dubbed "Sanctuary" gained popularity very rapidly as it quickly reached the coveted #1 trance spot on beatport. I consider the club mix to be much more entertaining than the original, so here is a rip from TGEP 105.

Gareth Emery ft. Lucy Saunders - Sanctuary (Club Mix)

Emery is great and so is his label. Garuda is an original and awesome name and most of the tracks released on the label are awesome as well. For example, listen to this Stoneface & Terminal remix.

Tritonal - Suede (Stoneface & Terminal Remix)

Oh, and Electric Zoo starts in 4 days. I'm very proud and excited to say that I, along with fellow writer Ellis and 2 of our friends, will be attending this year's edition of the electronic music festival. 2 days, 24 hours of pure eargasms. Let the countdown begin.

Next up, a brand new track from the likes of Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner. Whenever you see big names like these written one next to the other, don't even bother sampling, just download the track right away.

Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner - Animal Rights (Original Mix)

Ever heard of Eric Prydz? Its been a while and we've all missed him. The author of electronic classics (personal opinion) "Pjanoo" and "Call On Me" is back under a new alias: Pryda. "Niton" is a great house track that you're certain to be hearing in any club in the near future.

Pryda - Niton (Original Mix)

I won't even bother writing an introduction for this song. I've never heard of these artists and frankly, I don't even remember how I found this track. All I know is that it is awesome. Does anyone mind letting me know wtf Rex Mundi and Phynn are?

Rex Mundi - Opera of Northern Ocean (Phynn Remix)

I know Fred would've liked to post this, seeing as Diplo is his one of his favorite artists, but I can't resist. His new collaboration with Don Diablo is worth more than one listen. This is the first Diplo tune in which I can't find a Jamaican influence.

Diplo & Don Diablo - Make You Pop (Original Mix)

Good luck with your studies and don't forget to check hawtmusik.com periodically, assuming we don't slack off, for all your electronic music needs!
